Description
I based this Lino cut print on White Moor Stone Circle on Dartmoor , a remote place I walked to last year.
It is situated close to Little Hound Tor so it makes sense that the legend for this stone circle is about a hunter and his hounds who are hunting on the Sabbath and are punished by being turned to stone.
If you look closely, in my print some of the shadows of the stones are in the shape of dogs.
The starlings were gathering this year, flying over in large flocks, not here but close by in Okehampton at the bottom of my dad’s garden. However they were coming from all directions and it’s possible they would be circling around the stones on their way back to Northern Europe.
