Description
I made this lino print for the autumn equinox. It’s always sad when the swallows and swifts leave the UK in the autumn. They travel such a long way for a warmer climate that offers more food. But often we don’t see them leave. I sometimes think I can hear the susurration of feathery wings, rippling through the air at night outside my window. I imagine them leaving the moors by the light of the moon.
These birds are based on swallows and swifts but they are any bird you like or can imagine!
The print is a variable edition of 50. Each one being unique as the colour of my mix of blue black is never quite the same each time, allowing me to experiment a little.
I use my feet and a back of a spoon to press the prints.
The first ten prints will be printed on a warm Japanese washi vegan paper from the mulberry tree.
The size of the image is just under A3 and the paper size is 52cm x 43cm.
The ink is Caligo oil based safe wash which is a vegetarian relief printmaking ink and cleans up with water (not from your print though!)
I print to order although sometimes have a few ready. Please allow 2 – 3 weeks for delivery or check to see if I have one in stock to receive it sooner.
